Saw my old bike on the dealer's floor.

Was in the Harley dealer today doing a little Christmas shopping, heard a guy on the upper level talking to a salesman down below, "what happened to his buddies bike he had traded in?" the salesman said "His girl friend had come in and bought it back for him for Christmas." I thought the guy was going to fall over the railing laughing. What a girl friend!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an 08' ultra CVO I got late in the year & traded it in for an 11' last year, this summer I walked into the dealers sister store and there it was (they had moved it to this one). When I traded they gave me $27k and it had 29k miles on it. I walked up to it and was looking it over thinking about the good times when the salesman come over and started giving me the pitch he said the previous owner was a nut about maintenance and the bike was perfect (nice to here) not to worry about the 35K miles.I smiled and said I was the nut and how come so many more miles. He said they wanted $30k for it & the owner wouldn't take any less because whenever he took a trip or a long ride that's the bike he used. He said he didn't care it he had to keep it himself.

Wow great thread I thought I was the only one that felt that way - I traded my 09VRod on a 2010 FLHR in August of 2010
I love my FLHR. But that VRod was at the dealer for almost a year before they sold it.
Everytime I went in to the dealer I would look for it. A couple of times I even sat on the thing and I probably could have bought it back at a good price. But then I'd go home and ride the FLHR and I knew I did the right thing.
The VRod was too fast for me - it would have gotten me in some real trouble. I miss it but don't want it back.
