Saw my old bike on the dealer's floor.

When I traded my Deluxe in on my Street Glide, they said that it's probably gonna sell fast. I went back 2 days later to pick up a parts catalog and I saw my old bike in the sold line. I also saw a guy I went to Jr. High and High School with saying he was waiting to pick up his badass new bike....he bought my old one!

In 1988 I purchased a new Heritage, paid $9500. In 2003 I sold with 20K mile, in pristine condition, for $12K (not a bad deal for 14yr old bike w/a couple mods). The guy kept in-touch with me, I'm sorry he did, because he trash it in a matter of months. The last time I saw it the front fender had been smashed, tank had a ding, and he removed vintage leather bags, and in general looked as thou it had been in the weather for yrs.
I go over board with my toys (cars/boats/bikes) and who ever is in the used market gets their moneys worth when they buy from me.....I'm never so lucky, for the exception of this....selling something for more than I paid...new no less.

I have only traded one bike with the Dealer. It was my 1982 FLH. I never saw it again. I traded it for the New EVO Electra Glide in the Rubber Mount Frame. I have only sold 4 others as a private sale. Never saw them again. The other were a lost cause. One stolen, Four totaled. Most get over 100,000 miles before replaced.
The only bike I wish I had kept was the 1952 BMW R25/2 I found as a Basket case when stationed in Germany back in the 70s. I rebuilt it and rode the devil out of it. I sold it to another GI when I came back state side. Boy, I wish I had kept that bike.

My old bike almost beat me out of the dealer's lot! Was waiting for a few accessories to get put on my new RK when I saw a salesman writing up the old ride for another customer. Glad the wife had already closed the deal before I went to pick up the new ride or I would have been officially 'bikeless' for a bit.

Yes. I traded a 07 FXSTC in on a 10 Ultra Glide in the fall of 09. In March of 10 it was still there and looking fine. I bought it back. The dealer let me have it for the amount that he gave me on trade.
I decided never to sell any HD again. Now my garage has 7 of them packed into the rear of the garage.
Not a good pic but you can get the idea.
10 Ultra, 12 Road Glice, 07 FXSTC, 10 Dyns SG, 12 NRS, 09 XR1200 and a 08 Buell Ulysses XB12XT. A lot of tenders and wires running around.
