Default Anyone change the bulb color in their oil temp gauge?

Ive got a 2012 FLTRX that Im going to change the back lights on the gauges on. I know what the smaller gauges typically use but I changed the ambient air temp gauge to an oil temp gauge. It does not have wires running up to the back of it like the other small gauges. Instead it has a twist and lock type bulb housing with contacts on it that power the bulb. Does anyone know for sure which bulb I need for it? Id like to buy all the bulbs from superbrightleds.com so they all match. Thanks...

Can't imagine they've changed since I did mine. 194 is the bulb type. Use the WLED-x5 style. I've heard the SMD type are brighter but I have no experience with them.

I just changed all mine to LED's. The oil temp gauge hole is ever so slightly smaller. The LED bulb would not fit in. I took a dremel sanding disk and just barely buzzed off the tips of the bulb and it fit. Mine is a 2007 SG with the silver faced gauges. I used the WLED-A5 bulb and the color matched the speedo and tach perfect. You can ditch the condoms also. Another plus is my gauges don't fog anymore on cold mornings.

The guy that will be doing my speedo and tach recommends the superbrightleds.com brand so everything matches. Is that the brand you used or is there a cross reference?

Which color is required for 2010 FLHX silver faced? looks amber on the speedo & tach but maybe white on others? I don't care for the Silver Faced at night because the smaller gauges are different look than speedo & tach.

I was dickin around with my guage lights tonight, I bought 4 clear 168s and colored them with sharpies to see which color I liked. when I decided on the red I cleaned the blue and green ink off with brake clean and installed them the way they were looked great! just the right brightness for my almost 50 year old eyes ,and the heat from the bulb baked the ink on well. I kinda stumbled on this method but I thought it worked Great! Im not sure if I would like the bright glare of the LEDs but ill check them out
