Anyone went from 5 to 6 sp tranny w/o getting an 07?

Anyone went from 5 to 6 sp tranny w/o getting an 07?
I know I could go to the 07 with the 6 speed, but after a lot of thought regarding selling my bike for a rod, upgrading to an 07, building another custom, etc., what it all comes down to is when I look at my 06 and get that feeling that I just can't get rid of her. But I would change one thing, just because of the highway and higher-speed travelling....the 5 speed tranny. I was wondering if any of you have sold your existing 5 speed and gotten into a 6 speed (not necessarily a Harley brand - I am partial to other aftermarket ones price tags). What can I expect to get from my current 5 speed with 3Kon it and what would the difference in price be to get into a 6 speed? I would do all the labor myself.
If this has already been covered in another post, I am sorry for the redundance, but I couldn't find any subject with my specific question.

I thought about doing that - but I have my doubts about a 6 speed on a 88. I looked at going to a 95 and a 6 speed - and that was rapidly approaching the cost to trade up....and then I fell for the Road Glide. I have no regrets about trading it in (they gave me more than the Road Kings on Ebay are selling for on trade) and feel the money was well spent. I'll be hanging on to this one a long while.

My 07 RKC is very different after the recent recall. I am quite pleased with it. I am very interested to hear what folks say after they have had the recall done. I had 3000 miles on it before the upgrade. I was fairly happy with it then. Now after the upgrade I am quiet pleased.

Gino...
I don't think there's too much of a market for the 5 speed pull-off.
I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if you could get $500 for it. More than likely, it'll just become something to stub yuou toe(s) on in the garage.

It put a set of Harley 6 speed gears in my 05 Ultra and love it. It works great on the highway and reduced rpm's by 500. You can buy it for about $1600 from Motorcityharley.com. As far so the 5 speed a friend of my traded his for labor to a gu y that builds bikes.

I put in the REVTECH (Bryan I Know you wouldn't have it but the guy asked. Bryan has some good points for the Baker over the REVTECH but I was on a budget and don't plan on racing so the REVTECH works fine for me.) It cost about a grand installed with me doing the labor and the cost of the inner primary trans bearing shaft removal tool included. I really enjoy cruising 75 at 2750 rpm. If you are looking at just adding a little bit more legs to each gear you could just change your front pully from a 32 to a 34 tooth and recalibrate the speedo. I had a 70 tooth rear drive pulley and went to a 65 but had to change belts to a 136 cog/tooth from a 139. The belt was a little tight with the 34 front pulley so I am running the 32 for a season and will put the 34 on next month. Then I will have 80mph at 2780. The 07s are coming out with a 66 tooth rear pully if I am not mistaken at least the specs I saw on the cop bike had a 66 tooth. I think there might have been a pulley change earlier 04/05 but I am not sure. I sold my 5speed gear set on ebay and got about 160 bucks.
