mustang seat for xmas present

The backrest is a must for me and it should help tremendously for him doing long rides.
If he doesn't want it it just slide out, nothing to undo to remove it.
I think Mustang makes a Low seat now too. http://www.mustangseats.com/Category/LowDown-Touring

I put on the Mustang Wide Touring with the backrest and love it. Can do several hours on it and not have a sore butt. Had a similar seat on a Kaw Nomad and it was great also. I had originally put on the Mustang Lowdown, and while it did get me comfortably lower, the comfort is missing. It has a new owner in CA now.

He sat on it at sturgis and loved it. I just want to make sure that people felt like people still feel that way after a while.

I think he'll really like it. I have the studded touring version on my 08 RG. I can't remember what it's called exactly. But I think they called it the ultra touring seat. The seat itself is very comfortable when combined with a backrest for all day riding. But if I had it to do over again I think I'd go with the sport version. It might not matter on his RK because it's pre 08, but when they went to the 6 gallon tank it also made the snout of the seat a little more wide. I'm 6' on the nose and I can flat foot at a stop without any problems but it occasionally gives me a little hip discomfort from the wide stance. I seem to remember seeing a pre 08 version of my seat on another RG once at J & P and if I remember right it was a little more narrow at the nose of the seat. I bet he'll love it! (just be ready to buy him a backrest too!!!)

I realize it's a different seat but I have the mustang lowdown and have never been so happy with a seat on both of my harleys. I'm on the 2010 Roadglide and I'm 5'7 also and it works perfect for me. I bought it and without testing it rode to Milwaukee and back with great comfort. It still seems to be getting better with a few more thousand miles on it.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Mustang
