the 44 magnum is a great cam. I came close to getting it myself but opted for the 555 instead; i could have gone either way but i think the 44 was a little more expensive. Take a look at bob woods website and you can see dyno charts for that cam and what the specs are.

I'm no expert, but that seems like a lot of cam for a bagger, but set upright it could be a real runner on the road. Here are the specs.

I am running this cam in my 107.. I have the Axtell 20 degree dome pistons in stock bored jugs, Baisley heads, SE 50mm throttle body / injectors. I haven't dynoed it, I have a Thundermax and it is running great. I easily walk away from most of my buddies except one with a strong 117" build.

Do you like the way the bike feels? The power on mine comes on around 2500 and seems to keep pulling strong up to 6000.

I've been told that this cam will hold it's own in big inch builds, I have a set of 4.060 jugs sitting in my shop, I am a set of pistons away from a 114" build

The cam likes compression. If it is in a stock 96" motor it probably has a cam advance key installed to advance the cam timing. If you really want to wake your beast up at some point give Fuel Moto a call, arrange for a set of their pistons, have your cylinders bored, get there level 2 (or is it B) head work done and you will have a real monster on your hands.

FYI - Here's a dyne chart of that cam in a 96" motor with a good exhaust system.
