Default Chrome Shift Linkage Cover - Engraved "Harley-Davidson" Medallion

I purchased an H-D shifter rod cover (46305-01) on eBay. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with any installation instructions. This thing looks like a no-brainer installation but, I can’t get it to fit. According to the H-D website, its supposed fit '99-later touring models with stock gear shift linkage.

Does someone have installation instructions for this thing?

If you can wait until this evening I would be more than happy to scan / post the instructions. I have one on my bike and just customized one this past weekend to make it work on a buddy's Heritage.

I will tell you though, even on mine ('05 RKC), I still had to do some modifications to the cover to make sure the openings were big enough so the shifter pivots wouldn't hit and bind on the cover.

Let me know...

Definitely fits my 06 Road King and a no-brainer to install but be sure to put a rag or something under the where you have to insert the screw on the tail end. If you drop the screw you’re screwed like I was and made this job a one hour job instead of a half-hour job.

Same with those little brass ferrules on the cables when you swap out handgrips. If they hit ground they can bounce 5 - 10 feet in any direction. Or they can drop inside the switch housing through a little gap just about the same exact size as them. Don't ask me how just sum it up to say, I know own 2 extra ferrules.

Go to your Harley dealer and they can download a copy of the instructions for you. Been there done that
