I am planning on doing the same to mine soon. The service manual pretty much takes you through the process so you probably should have one of those if you don't already. There are also some pretty good tips on how to fab your own tools on the forums if you do a search. I am fixin to disassemble and drop the tubes at the local chrome shop for plating. Let us know how your project goes.

1.5" schedule 40 pvc pipe. 2 feet is plenty. 36mm wrench from tool pouch that came with the bike. Something to measure the fork oil with. Extra long 6mm Allen head socket. Air impact gun. Assembly lube. Mallet. An extra set of hands. Replace the seals while your in there, that is what the pvc pipe is for. Pvc pipe is a tight fit, cut the end a little. Common sense.

how about your front suspension have ya upgraded it yet, our ya happy with the stock set up, now would be a good time to do it, just saying. the new fork kit the #45500106 is part of the premium ride H-D has now, to go with the rear premium shocks they have. been reading good stuff about it.
