Default Rinehart vs. Samson Mufflers

Hey guys. My wife currently suggested I get new mufflers for my 04 FLHT. I currently am running Samson rolled ovals with true dual headers. Bike runs great and sounds great but am thinking about getting Rinehart 3.5. Trying to decide if I should make the switch. Would I gain any additional HP?

My understanding in talking with some friends who are more knowledgeable, when I was looking to put slip ons on the bike, is that your proposed modification would NOT increase HP but actually may rob the bike of a little low end torque. That is what I was TOLD.

On a related topic, IMHO, the setup you have sounds better than the Rineharts added on. Just an opinion... I had that set up on another bike and loved the sound and purr produced by the Samsons.

I like the 4" Rineharts. Nice low rumble when idling or at constant speed, but will wake up your neighbors two streets over if you ramp it. JMHO

Rinehart's hands down. The 3.5" seem to have less issues with the "rattle" than the 4" do. Other than that, they are great products that sound great. There is a reason they sell so many of them, because they are a great sounding pipe.

The Sampsons that a friend had on his bike were way to loud and harsh for my tastes. I like the Rineharts.
