FYI, Ace carries these 5/16" fasteners in button head hex, or button head torx in either stainless or chrome. I mention this because some have commented that they thought the Brukus kit offered more security due to the torx bolt heads. I'll make my own "Brukus kit" at Ace Hardware.

If they break with bag gaurds what will it do to the paint on the bag as they bang around in the "basket". I carry a spare set JIC. Will fit just about anywhere.

I never heard to replace them that often. I check mine regularly.

WOW! I must be living on barrowed time. In over 20 years I've never had a problem with saddlebag fasteners.
When I bought my 2010 Limited I was going to put guards on it, but decided to get a Tri Glide instead.

I once broke one of my pins while attempting to mount a bag. I bought a couple, so I'll have a spare.

FYI - We temporarily extended our free domestic shipping - so if you are considering purchasing the SaddlebagSecure kit - or any of our securing products, now is a good time to do so.

Nice JD....wish I thoughta that before i went with the kit. They give you a large size torx button head but if you loss the wrench ( huge size torx), it would cause stress so using a regular bolt would suffice...im gonna rummage round my bolt jar and swap em over.....good lookin out!

I was just getting ready to suggest a nut and bolt idea... great minds think alike.
