Windshield suggestions for a 2010 Street Glide
#21
Changing out my stock shield was one of the first things I did. I am 6'4" and went with an 10" light grey shield from http://www,freedomshields.net. It is alot thicker than the stock sheild and pushes the wind up over my head. It is shipped with a plastic sheeting on it so you can try it out and return it if you don't like it. That is even stated on their website.
They do have local dealers. You will have to call to get locations though; they don't have them listed on their site.

Klock Werks 6.5 flared smoked here on the 2011 Street Glide. Makes the front end feel like it is planted in the road. And the faster you go, the better the bike handles. Met Brian Klock at Daytona this past year and went with what he suggested. Cost me $180, but the best money I have spent yet. You can order them straight from Klock Werks http://www.kustombaggers.com/Street-...atalogId=-1790

I have an 11 Street Glide and couldn't handle the buffeting either.
Tried a LRS Stealth shield (8") which performed great but I didn't like the the look/styling on the bike.
Swapped it out for a Klockwerks Flare (6.5") which is great. Arguably it may be a bit of a compromise between performance and looks. I just feel that it works and still looks sharp on the bike.

I had a KW 6.5 and thought it sucked big time and couldn't wait to get rid of it.
Wind hit me square in the forehead and I'm only 5'10". I sold it about as quick as I put it on too. I can't stand those "aerodynamic shields". Ugly, ugly ugly, look like they should be on a Fugly. They look they were melted in the sun.

I'm 6 foot. Got 8 inch clear view brand. Definitely made hearing the radio better. As far as wind......well it's a bike. Get a good pair air tight goggles like 7eye. Once your eyeballs are stable (high speed riding) and you can hear the tunes the "wind" becomes not a factor.

I run the 6" Aero from www.Fastaire.com on my 11 SG and have found it to be great. I'm 5-11 and it took care for the buffeting for me. Ride safe.
