Thanks for all the help with the wife but what about the pipes.

 

I have the power duals and the SE street performance mufflers. A little bit louder than stock but not loud. Nice deep sound but won't hurt your ears. Former GF liked the sound, not that that matters. I use ear plugs for the wind noise.

 

I'm running Power Duals with the V&H oval slipons, not the monster ovals. Sound is just a bit louder than the stock pipes. I guess if you still have your stock pipes you could put them back on without telling your wife, go out for a ride and then see if she knows that you changed the pipes. Ask her in a casual way if she can hear the radio or something like that which makes her listen and if she doesn't say the bike is still noisy then it's not the pipes that causing the problem.
