Default So I got my new Wind Deflector

I got it yesterday. So today I had to leave work early, would you believe that a transformer blew up in the parking lot damaging one car, and leaving our building without power. So I got to leave at lunch to go home. Well, now I have time to go over to my bike, I store it at my grandmothers heated garage a mile away. I needed to get the wind up about 2" to get it over my glasses and to stop them from buffeting. So I ordered a Clearview wind deflector 4 1/2" with a recurve, tinted. Not as dark as I would have liked, but I will let it grow on me before I add tint to get it darker. I hope it does the job, and kicks the wind up a bit.

Here are a couple of pics.

I received my 8" Clearview last week and now have about 300 miles on it. I think is is wonderfull. The recurve works as promised and I like the tint.

I like my 8" Cleaerview too. It works as promised. Not to discourage or be critical, but I doubt any 4.5" windshield, recurved or otherwise is going to provide much protection.

I really not looking for much protection, just to get the air up and over my glasses. I am used to running without a windsheild at all. But with the stock 4" from harley, at highway speeds the air seems to hit me square in the glasses........just trying to improve it a little.

I have no idea yet...its has been below 30 degrees here most of the time. I will try to take it for a ride up to the dealer today for the ECM update. If I get real brave I will take it out on the expressway without my face mask and let you know It is soppused to be around 37 this afternoon when I get off work.

I understand and rode my Fatboy regularly without the windshielded. The blast of wind was never the problem, for me it was the buffetting caused by the combination of a short windshield and a fairing. I've just come to the conclusion that fairings and ultra short windshields while looking cool, don't work.

Oh yeah. I put a 5 1/2" black shield on my UC cause I thought it looked cool. I took it off after the first ride. My neck was stiff for 3 days from all the turbulance.
