Default Road Glide front end wobble

OK, here's a weird one....I have a '11 FLTRU and have experienced (twice now) a low speed wobble when riding without any hands. At first, when I got the bike I was amazed at how stable it was on the highway compared with my '01 FLHRC. I rode without hands at 65-70mph (much to my wife's displeasure) and I was thrilled with the stability. No problem, I thought when I was riding home at 45-50 mph (and slowing) when suddenly the front wheel began to wobble (east-west)! I was shocked, but recalling my wifes comments I thought, "Well, I don't need to ride without hands......ever".
Well, this morning, I didn't put on gloves after grabbing a coffee and before taking off. Again, at low speed (and slowing), I let go of the bars and reached into my jacket pockets to get my gloves and again the wobble.
I know the short (and obvious) answer is to keep both hands on the bars but wanted to ask around and see if anyone else has experienced this same (cheek clenching) phenomenon.
I have nearly 15,000 miles on the bike now, have had the front rotors replaced at 12,000+ (due to warping) under warranty and have changed the front tire at the same time.
Cheers.

It's the rake and trail, that causes that. My Hooker did it too. The trikes I build are a prime example of the extreme side of that. Stock rake trike, take your hands off the bars and it'll throw you off faster than my ex wife would. Add 4.5 degree trees to an Ultra and it rides like a dream hands or no hands. I'm raking the neck on my Heritage this winter, and my chopper is raked and has raked trees. Feet up at 90mph or 10 in the parking lot, straight and true.

Exclamation "They all do that"

They really do, but it ain't supposed to.
Take it to the dealer and insist they adjust the steering head bolt.
This should be a warranty issue and shouldn't cost you anything.
Do not let them BS you about improper tire inflation or anything. K?

common problem... handle bars start to wobble while coasting down from around 40mph with the hands off the bars.
adjust the fall away to a little less than one swing. (the book says 1.5 - 2 swings)

there has been a change in the specs for the fall away for the road glides, a rider from Canada went thru a whole rigamarloe as the dealer wasn't up on service bulletins and the new spec

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...front-end.html

It's a warranty issue for OP with the '11

first check tire pressure, some don't and find the problem is with pre flight checks

I had the same problem with mine. Your fall away needs to be adjusted. Dealer adjusted it under warranty...

I have an 07 and had the same problem. I had the dealer look at it and they adjusted the fall away but it still wasn't perfect. (they said it was within spec) I met a guy with the same issue who told me he had the same problem until he put on a new front tire. I just had to do that and went with front and rear elite3....no more wobble.

It's just the tire trying to figure out which way the headlights are aiming.

for me its always a new front tire and no wobble, usually happens at 30-35 ,but the fuglys seem to like a tighter neck bearing.
