If you have had the Wild 1 14" in the past, and like them, I would stick with them. I love them on my bike.
If I'm not mistaken, they have the most pull back of any of the bars that size, and really allow you to lean back.

I exchanged some email with Carlini, they say their 13" 1.25 gangster apes are pretty much the same height as the 14" Wild1's.
They are more expensive, but I think have a bit more style and attitude. Plus I think since they are curved back a bit, they would probably be less likely to interfere with the windshield. I dont use the windshield terribly often, but its a must on highway/long trips and cold weather.
Here's a pic of the 13" gangsters on a Road King from their web site. I really think this is the way I'll go
I'd go Flyin' Apes. I originally wanted Gangster Apes, then seeing that they have almost no pull back and they were like 2" wider. You also want to think about the windshield...the Flyin' Apes curve back which is a good thing in your case.

Actually, the gangsters curve back, the flying apes curve forward (arc points out from you, vs gangsters where the arc points in), but you are right, I'm concerned about the windshield.
You make a good point about width, I need to compare the measurements.
