Thanks all for the replies. I didn't notice it at the dealer (guess too excited!) or on my way home, my brother and I did notice it the next day while it sat in my garage, I wasn't too concerned, thought maybe it was the way the light shone on it. I then checked it out on the street and yep, the tank's paint looks different.
Definitively, absolutely going for a tank swap, no re-spray, I've had this scoot less than 2 months to have it re-painted.
Lets see how it goes, so far its been a positive, A1 experience with dealer, looking forward for them to make it right.

I agree with others....take it to the dealer and let them make it right.

Wore case....buff it with a soft cloth and some rubbing compound......maybe the top coat of clear can be rubbed out.

Nice bike, BTW.

I wouldn't let them take the old tank before they gave you a new replacement tank. Who knows how long they'll take to get a tank for you. Painted parts can take a long time to come in. You'd be stuck home while your buds are out riding.

That's true.....they should let you ride on the one you have until the replacement coems in.

Most dealerships are pretty cool...I'm sure they'll do you right....of course, it helps if you becomes friends with the service boss.

I have the vivid black and looking at your bike, I would have to say the color is a little off.

The tank has what I can best describe as a very light grayish hue to it, like smoked, hazed clearcoat. Its more noticeable under certain light conditions than others but its there. It definitively doesn't look as deep and pure black as the other tins.
My brother noticed it immediately when I got her home.

I checked my brother in law's 2010 FLHX Vivid Black and his tank does not have the "hue" and match perfectly the rest of the tins.
I've tried wax, "Harley Gloss" and Pledge with no results.

Anyone heard of or has this "problem"?? Been debating on taking it back to the dealer so trying to research this a bit before I decide to bring her in.

BTW its noticeable enough that it actually bothers me ..

Thanks!
Do not accept that paint job there are ways to check the color if the dealer gives you a hard time I can find out who supplied the paint IE PPG Dupont it could be the basecoat or the clearcoat. I wouild not try to do anything to fix it yourself.

Man, that almost looks like they painted the tank midnight pearl instead of vivid black.

In your pics it doesn't even look black. It shouldn't be very hard to convince your dealer.
