Question How are those new tubeless-laced wheels workin' out?

I was just curious as to how folks that have them on their 2012 bikes are getting along.

Seems like a great way to go looks-wise if they work with no problems, although it may be too soon to tell how they'll hold up over time.

Also, are the rims chromed, or are they just polished aluminum?

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the new tubeless laced wheels that are offered as options on the 2012 bikes from the factory, not aftermarket wheels.

Thanks in advance for any info/opinions.

I can't find any info on these wheels, can't even find them on their site, HD must be making it a secret.

BMW and other brands have been using them for years. It's a pretty cool look.

The Street Glide I test rode before I bought mine had the lace spoked wheel. I believe the lip of the rim is chrome and the spokes are polished. Atleast that is what I think they were when I had them on my Deluxe. They weren't gin to clean....thats for sure.

I wouldn't worry about them leaking. I still have a set of Hallcrafts big spokes that came from the factory sealed. I ran them for several years after buying them in '03. The flange on the rear rim cracked and I put the wheels in my basement with tires still mounted. They still hold air fine.

The wheels and lace on mine are chrome, and they lose air even slower than solid wheels I've had in the past. Very happy with them so far.

My DNA 60 spokes are tubeless. I've had them on since 2007. No problems.

I'm thinking they are just sealing them with a compound like silicone, and are just the standard laced wheels. I think the tires they use say tubeless, so once you seal the spokes and change out the air valve, you're good to go.

Don't think they are just tubed spokes that are sealed. I believe the lip profile is different - you can't just run tubeless tires on a (sealed) tubed rim.

They are not the standard laced wheel, they are different from those used traditionally by Harley, from what I have seen. The rim itself is smooth with no contour near the nipples and are chromed aluminum vs. steel.

They actually look nice on the touring bikes, makes them look lighter...if that makes sense.

I am also wondering how they are holding up with the weight of the touring bikes.
