Time to Vote out the CEO !!
St. Paul Harley - 72 Years in bussiness !
Look at Santa Cruz Harley - There had been a Harley-Davidson dealership in Santa Cruz since 1923, and Harley killed them !
St. Paul Harley dealer wins ruling on new sales rules
U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz on Monday ordered Harley-Davidson Motor Co. The judge's order is effective through Feb. 29.
St. Paul Harley-Davidson (incorporated as St. Paul Motorsports Inc.) sued the Milwaukee-based motorcycle manufacturer in October to fight the policies, which would eliminate about a quarter of the 72-year-old dealership's revenue.
St. Paul Harley owner Tom Giannetti, who also owns a Harley dealership in Eden Prairie, said motorcycle sales have been dropping since 2008, but that the business has remained profitable thanks to the sales Harley wants to ban.
Attorneys for both parties are negotiating a resolution to the dispute, they said in a recent court filing. Schiltz put the case on hold through January as those conversations continue, court records show.

Look at it this way:
Harley-Davidson is one company
Dealers are separate companies
They each have different interests
- as each will remind the customer when there are problems 1.) with the product complaining to the dealer 2.) with the service complaining to H-D.
* H-D may also be combatting counterfeit parts being sold through ebay etc.- be a bummer to buy say, brakes on ebay and have them not work
** Foreign Distributors have exclusive rights for their territory- which causes them to beef at H-D, it's tricky. ( Our CDN Brothers are really held hostage by the CDN Dist. who set retail prices, at a high mark up--- incl. not adjusting prices as currency change
I personally would prefer to buy where/when there is competition.
The good news is that this silly bitching does leave room for a healthy aftermarket

Surely you show loyalty to your shareholders by showing loyalty to ALL your business partners, whether suppliers, staff or dealers? Call me old fashioned but I believe honest and fair dealings is what makes you most profitable - in a sustainable manner. Works for me and my biz anyway!
That said, I am sure there is a lot more to this story and it could also be easily argued, at face value anyway, that the dealer was not very loyal either!
I just think it is a shame that both parties were so pathetic in not realising that there is only 1 group that wins this kind of nonsense - the solicitors!
