Default What compression does the Woods TW5-6 like?

I am thinking about putting the TW5-6 in a new stock 103" bagger... Do I need to increase the compression for these cams? Or is the stock 9.7 CR good?

Thanks

No need to raise compression; the 5-6 intake closes at 37*, it willl run fine.

That TW5 is a great bolt in cam for the stock 103ers. There's a couple of forum members with those cams, and they report great torque right off idle. We'd probably see quite a few more bikes with those cams, were it not for the sheer number of 150 dollar se255 camsets that are available.

Dan Dorfman (Deweysheads.com) recommends the TW5 cams for the stock 103 bikes.

Thanks for the info guys. It was a toss up between the SE 204 and the Woods 5-6.... But I think I will go with the proven performance of the Woods 5-6 cam in my 103" stock motor.

Works great in my stock 96. Think u have a little more compression in your 103, should be good fit.

Thanks..... yes the factory 103" has 9.6 CR compared to the 9.2 of the 96" motor.

Anything else I have to do when installing the TW5-6 cams? lifters? pushrod adjustment?

Thanks

Do a search but a lot of folks have said the Woods lifters are noisy. As for the pushrods, if you can just re-use your factory ones and save yourself the $150 for something else.

I used fuelmotos pushrods and stock lifters. My valve train is as quiet as stock. I think a lot of the "noisy cam" rep comes from improperly adjusted pushrods.
