I wash my bike with McGuires soap by hand then I use the Mr. Clean deal to rinse it with deionized water and then hit with my Stihl leaf blower and that pretty much does it anything the leaf blower doesn't get will dry spotless because of the Mr Clean sprayer.
Yes, bike blowers work great, aaaaaaa leaf blowers are leaf blowers, , 1) they can not push the water out of tight places, & 2) blow crap etc. back onto bike, 3) it looks dry but the moisture that does the most damage is STILL there, but like everything hobby, (some Corvette people are the same way) they spend thousands on a toy then go cheap when it comes to taking care of it, you ask, so that is my opinion.
I picked one up from Bumpus and love it. I think it cost aroung thirty bucks +- and has a nice rubber outlet that protects your bike fron scuffs and the like. This puppy makes washing and drying a breeze without being overkill.
I've used various things over the years (including the "leaf blowers"), and the results varied.
After reading a number of reviews in Easy Rider and other publications I took the plunge, spent the extra money, and purchased one of the Metro "Air Force Blasters".
All I can say is that it works great, and after borrowing mine a number of friends have also purchased the units.
