Thinking hard about getting a 2012 CVO Road Glide...

If you are getting it out the door at MSRP you are getting a steal. Here you would be looking at $2400 in tax, plus set-up, licensing and document charges. I would guess you could expect to add $4000 to MSRP out the door.
Not that I think that is too bad. Just to get the bike for MSRP plus those is a good buy at my local dealer. They routinely mark the CVO's up $5K over MSRP and can't keep them in stock. I know they are not the only one.

I spoke with the dealer here in AZ - they have that same skunk CVO (agree it is absolutely amazing in person) and they have it listed at 33k and some change. I asked them how much out the door when you're looking at taxes, fees, etc and it comes in at 39k. My King is paid off and is very nice in its own right. But I'm looking at roughly an additional 19k if I were to sell the King and get 20k which is on the conservative side but probably realistic. In my opinion I can't justify that much coin for the exact same frame I'm riding with now. Just my two cents...wish you the best. The folks on this board who said the bike was at 40k were about right.
DON'T EVER PAY OVER MSRP! If we all abide by that rule the stealer's prices will come down. MSRP is enough of a profit margin for these stealers.
Does anyone think that this stealer selling a CVO for $2K+ over MSRP will give you $2K more at time of a trade in than a dealer selling at MSRP?

You still have to pay taxes at the very minimum...sounds like funny math to me. Go in there and ask them how much out the door - final price. I'd be curious.

I guess I wasn't clear... I'll pay MSRP for the bike, and all applicable taxes, tags, etc...
Out the door for MSRP is simply not going to happen on a CVO bike, and not likely to happen around here at all.
What I was commenting to was people paying MSRP + 3K or 4K just for the bike and tax&tags.

It would be about $32,500 to $33,000 for MSRP, freight, tax, tags, doc fee etc...
Still no where near the 40K mark.

This is not a dealer but a STEALER! MSRP is $30,699 + $380 for freight. That comes out to just over $31K + tax, tags & BS stealer fees.

Couldn't agree more! Paying more for something than the manufacturer says it's worth is just plain stupid...

I soooo wish it were that easy, it could take a while for my dealer to get their hands on another one. The one I saw the other day is already sold. I am fine with that as it gives me time to make sure that is what I want.
No matter what I have decided I WILL get a new bike this winter.

tell them you'll take it if they change out your cheap tour pak hinges to the deluxe ones. The black gloss may look pretty good on the bike too. It's a crying shame that they sell a 35k+ bike and put cheap crate looking hinges on the tour pak. I changed mine out last month. tour pak lid is way stronger, and it looks so nice. Now i see myself always looking at other tour pak hinges. I really like that color combo for the CVO, also I like the yellow one they have out. Either way change out that crappy hinge to finish it off. jeff
