They should come painted stock.. I mean why not?
It's stupid to have them all black and then paint them the same color as the bike..
Just charge $200 more for the painted ones and put them in from the git-go.
Silly greedy HD.. Sheesh...

Yeah think that I may try this mod myself, and yes, "painted Inner Fairing" should be an option straight out of the Box ! ...the MoCo always figures out how to best extract every last dollar, on the arts and accessories.LOL.

Me? I can barely remember which plug is for my Tranny and which is for my engine oil.
I will save up $ for the inner fairing.

chuck the mensh
I'm with ya on this one Chuck....I'm also lacking in the memory and concentration dept. Usually takes me 2 tries to get my boots on
and laced up !!!

A friend of mine , who also rides a R/G and has his own paint shop,
has removed-painted-and reinstalled his inner fairing many times.
He offered to do my inner fairing for $300 ... disassemble and reassemble.
He usually charges $400 for this. Paint was damn close to dead-nut spot on.....

To the OP .... if you have the 'time, space, tools, and patience' you should
be all set. I didn't and don't, so opted to pay to have it done.

Well, actually, it is an option for anyone. You can buy the bike and have the dealer install a brand new painted inner faring before you take delivery of the bike. Or you can have the dealer install it anytime after you buy the bike. The new inners are around $550 plus install. You have to take what HD has to offer, so you lose some of the customization you might get doing it yourself. But it is a choice. When they do it on a new bike, it's under warranty. Like everything else we buy with HD, it will be more expensive that way, but at least it's done and ready to ride.

I like this carbon fiber one.

It's damn expensive @ 600 bucks but I think it looks great.
