Have you had your outer fairing off yet? Did you see the amount of stuff attached to the inner fairing? Can you remove all that and re-install it? If you can...then it is a piece
of cake.
Me? I can barely remember which plug is for my Tranny and which is for my engine oil.
I will save up $ for the inner fairing.

and laced up !!!
A friend of mine , who also rides a R/G and has his own paint shop,
has removed-painted-and reinstalled his inner fairing many times.
He offered to do my inner fairing for $300 ... disassemble and reassemble.
He usually charges $400 for this. Paint was damn close to dead-nut spot on.....
To the OP .... if you have the 'time, space, tools, and patience' you should
be all set. I didn't and don't, so opted to pay to have it done.

Well, actually, it is an option for anyone. You can buy the bike and have the dealer install a brand new painted inner faring before you take delivery of the bike. Or you can have the dealer install it anytime after you buy the bike. The new inners are around $550 plus install. You have to take what HD has to offer, so you lose some of the customization you might get doing it yourself. But it is a choice. When they do it on a new bike, it's under warranty. Like everything else we buy with HD, it will be more expensive that way, but at least it's done and ready to ride.

It's damn expensive @ 600 bucks but I think it looks great.
