Strret Glide vs Road King

If a fairing and gauges are not the deal breaker i say Road King.....You can make that bike look like anything your imagaination desires and yes if u want tunes you can have them on a road king just not over 60 mph..The more bare bones a bike is and what you do with it is all the fun of owning the bike if one bike is all you have...In a perfect world we would all own several bikes one for each day and situation

Traded from a VRod. Road King for me. I tested both the RG (extensively )- never could get over the sharknose.....and the SG/EG/UG - rode all three of them
SG/RG- hard ride - small windshield - never could get over the buffeting issues -
EG/UG - much better ride than the SG - but I never felt comfortable on either of them
RK - That was the one for me - standard shocks - excellent ride - versatility - somewhat unique
and best of all I CAN TAKE THE WINDSHIELD OFF!!!!!!!!!!!
The RK was the one - it's just a question of color SLAM DUNK for me

When I was getting rid of my Deluxe (still love that bike) I kept going back and forth between the Road King and the Street Glide. The Street Glide felt more comfortable to me (5'9" 175 lbs) but I love the looks of the Road King Classic. Ended up with the Street Glide. Wife loves it also. I have the Sundowner touring seat on it. I never wanted a radio but now that I have one I do enjoy it. I was a little nervous at first because I have only been riding 4 yrs but the touring bikes handle so well the I got use to it quickly.
Good luck in your decision. You really cant go wrong with either one.

I have a road king, spent a lot of money on a aftermarket fairing with a combination of kenwood, arc audio, and Hetz stereo components, spent a lot of money on a king tour pak, that allows me to pack for long hauls. The great thing is it all comes off in less than 10 minutes. Your going to love any of the touring bikes.
