Default RE: SG MIRROR

I have fairing mounted mirrors on my EG Classic. I did them myself with very little effort, and I really like them. I can see fine with them, and they really clean up the bike.

Regards,

Bill

The SG mirrors took me a while to get used to, but they're okay...just okay. There is a blind spot close to the bike where more angle is needed on the mirrors, and I installed some wide-angle insert mirrors you can get at the auto parts stores for a few bucks. I'm used to using these on my car, so I was already trained.

The hardest part of the install was me having to head over to Home Depot to buy a more powerful drill for the holes! (I had an old B&D 7.2v that just couldn't make it through the plastic!)

Hey all! Can anyone who has done this briefly describe the install??? Sound like you don't need to disassemble the batwing....I just might do this one myself.......
Thanks!

Outer fairing must come off to mount the mirrors to the inner. Templates are provided with the kit.

Pretty much what bountyhunter said. Take off the outer fairing, put the inserts in place, drill the holes, attach the mirrors, put the outer fairing back on. Voila!

Be sure to get the latest version of the fairing mount mirrors, Harley part no. 91945-98A. These have a different mount than the superceded version and are said to vibrate less. I have the earlier version on my '04 EG and my buddy has the newer version on his 06 EG Classic. The mounts are definitely different though the installation inside the fairing is the same. Very simple installation: templates for drilling three holes for each are provided.
