Hey audio experts. Any recommendations on a Sony head unit where you can actually see the display in bright sunlight? I have the Biketronics retro radio so my hand controls work - great product by the way. What sucks is the HU. Does anyone OWN an Sony HU that you can see the display and actually like?

This link is for the black one. This one doesn't have a CD player. On my next bike I will be using this one. I never use the CD player now with the USB control built into the head unit.

 

I just installed a Sony CDX-M10 based on the comment sombody left on Amazons site saying they could view the display in sunlight on their Ultra. Wether its true or not, I wont know til spring. The motor is currently in rehab for horsepower addiction and is recieving a stroker crank transplant! The HU sounds awsome in the garage paired up with a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 and Focal 165CA1 speakers.

 

I have a Sony dsx-s100 and I can't see the display in day light, but my Road Glide fairing tips the unit away from me. Might be better on a batwing with the stereo right in your face.

I really like the stereo. No cd, but it has the iPod tray that charges the ipod.

I had the same problem with the standard Sony Radio that comes with the Biketronics setup (GT630). I switched to the Sony DSX MS60 Marine radio and have been happy ever since. The MS60 does not have a CD player but does have the feature of hiding your Memory Stick or IPOD inside the radio. Being Marine does not mean it is waterproof but it is a little more water resistant. The hook up is exactly the same and is a direct replacement for the previous version. I can read the radio in bright sunlight as the screen is light with black letters. The Biketronics AVC and hand control system works fine. Hope this helps

 

I have the same radio on my batwing and cant see the display for ****. I do however love the ipod tray. It also charges my iphone when plugged in.
