I need a new Sony Head Unit
#12
I'm in the same situation as you with my Kenwood unit. Works very well but just can't see it for chit in daylight. Wanting to be frugal (ok, cheap) I looked at JVC, Kenwood, Alpine and Clarion based upon using my existing PAC SWI-JACK for my factory radio controls. You probably have the PAC SWI-PS for Dual, Pioneer, Jensen and Sony decks. I ended up ordering a JVC KD-R720 that has multiple light color adustments and brightness level. Plus it has my satellite/IPod ability requirements. Only cost $100/shipped from an authorized JVC dealer so I'm hoping it'll work. As above, I won't know till spring. Good luck in your search .....

I had the same problem with the standard Sony Radio that comes with the Biketronics setup (GT630). I switched to the Sony DSX MS60 Marine radio and have been happy ever since. The MS60 does not have a CD player but does have the feature of hiding your Memory Stick or IPOD inside the radio. Being Marine does not mean it is waterproof but it is a little more water resistant. The hook up is exactly the same and is a direct replacement for the previous version. I can read the radio in bright sunlight as the screen is light with black letters. The Biketronics AVC and hand control system works fine. Hope this helps
+1 on this unit. You can see it fine. The controls are difficult to use while riding but if you don't mind pulling over to change the channel, you will like it fine.

I had a Sony M60 Marine unit on a Dragonfly use to have on another bike and I could see the display fine. I am thinking about pulling out HK on my present bike and like the Sony DSX-MS60 Marine FM/AM Digital Media Player particularly like black face. Be interested if any input on it's display?
