As well if you do that like the diagram shows and you run the PBR300x4 you could technically run 16 speakers. A typical diagram for using 4 ohm speakers with a 4 ohm stable amp that is 4 channels would be each individual speaker to the outputs connecting the positive and negative accordingly you wouldnt necc. do the diagram above because now your splitting 75wx4 onto the one channel so realisticly your probably seeing only about 20-25 watts per speaker. That is not the best way to do it unless you have that many speakers. If you tell me what you have maybe I can help further just to clarify.

 

That is a way to wire up 4-4ohm speakers to one output and still have 4 ohms as the load. The wiring diagram you show is a parallel-series wiring, which still shows the amp a 4 ohm load.

If you ran just two of the speakers in series the amp would see 8 ohms as the load, if you ran them in parallel the amp would see 2 ohms as the load, but if you ran them in parallel-series then the amp sees 4 ohms, which is what the 300x4 wants to see. I hope this helps.

If your only using four speakers and they are all 4 ohm drivers wire them individually to each output then you will get the most available power output from your amplifer. Then if you add more speakers later you can move two of the wires over and re-wire them and then utilize the available channels.

Sorry bout that. I will be running 2 speakers in the fairing and 2 speakers in the lower fairings. I ended up getting Focal 165 CA1 which are 4 ohm speakers.

 

That's what I did, ran the rear speakers and the lower fairing speakers on the Fosgate, the fairing speakers and tweaters run off the radio, sounds good to me!

 

I would like to install a Rockford Fos.300 amp and use my stock speakers(money issues).Would anyone tell me if I need the 300X2 or the 399X4?What speakers front only would I want to add down the road?Do I need an amp install kit?

You can use the PBR300x2 and then upgrade the stock speakers to a 6.5 any brand will do better than the stock HD ones I recommend the Focal 165CA1 and then you need speaker ring adapters to fit them and then an amplifier wiring kit to install it. Or you can purchase the wiring piece by piece. One power and one ground from the battery ot inside the fairing I would run 10g. for that amp and fuse it at the battery. Some speaker wire for inside the fairing and some turn on wire 16g a few feet of it. Pretty straight forward install for that amp and the installation your thinking of doing. Good luck

 

ONTHELO, this is the same conversation I had with the two very well known , audio shops just yesterday ,when I tried to buy that same Focal speaker --as I was told -"if you want to run the Focal 165ca1 with the fosgate PBR300X2 , buy several sets cause you'll be changing them everytime you turn them up "............the amp has an RMS wattage rating of 100 amps output , and those speakers are rated for 60 RMS... KAPOW.... thats the reason they both told me to go with the better 100watt rated Polk speakers ...they said if I was using the 300X4 @ 75 watts RMS and was careful I MIGHT be able to make the Focals live awhile by turning the gain way down on the amp...., but not the 300X2......I asked about the speakers PEAK RMS rating, and was told that the peak RMS didnt mean squat the only number to watch that is important is the std RMS rating on a speaker ...
