Can anybody help me get the "pop" out of my system?
i just installed the Rockford amp and I get the turn on "pop".
It is connected to radio via RCA outputs so I have to use the remote power lead.
i have tried adjusting the highpass (i think that is right) and get no change.
Possibly I need to change where I am picking up my turn on power from.
Ideas??
Also as I adjust the gain the thing cuts in and out lik there is a short.
Myabe I just have a defective amp??

My amp is wired up with a power and ground only........and the speaker wires......with this amp it senses the signal from the speakers and turns on by itself from what I understand........you shouldnt need too run the RCAs or a remote wire......

hope that helps

My HK radio has been modified with RCA outputs.
If you have RCA outputs, you use them.
And if you have connected via RCA outs, then you have to use the remote power.

Any suggestions??

For sure use the RCAs. You can adjust the pop out with the control that is adjustable and (I think, not looking at it) 4 - 6V. It is explained in the book, but not really good. I and a few others have had great luck the way you are running. Hope this helps

One of the coolest things about this new RF amp is the mini size and that it can run without RCAs........had trouble with mine just saying

OK. Time for a stupid question that will show my ignorance when it comes to this audio stuff. I came across a wiring diagram on RF's website for the PBR300x4 amp showing how to wire 4 speakers.

Is this for if you want to wire 4 speakers to 1 of the amp's 4 outputs? I was assuming that I would simply hook the + and - of each channel of the amp to the + and - of each speaker (i.e. have 4 speaker wires coming out of the amp each going directly to a speaker). Would I do it this way, or the way it's shown in the picture with wires running from one speaker to another speaker.

Thanks!

I ran my wires according to that video you posted.......zero issues for me that way......

The diagram shows 4- 4 ohm dirvers. The way it is wired is first the two pairs are wired in series (like flashlight batteries) then by using the empty negative terminal from one set and the empty positive terminal from the other one they are run down in parralle which gives them the 4 ohm ending load. When each pair is run in series it brings the load to 8 ohm then by doing the paralle it brings it back down to 4 ohm which is the rating at which the PBR300x4 operates at.
