I'm looking at replacing the stock shield with either the Cee Baileys Ceeglide 15 or 16 inch or the Clearview Large. I'm 6'2" with 32 inseam. I like the idea on the Cee Bailey of no rubber trim on the bottom of the shield but wanted to see if anyone had some experience with these 2 shields and what size worked best.

Thanks for the info Skratch. That looks 100 times better then the glue on crap that is stock and falls off after the first ride.

 

I have the 14" Cee glide on my RGC. Excellent shield and quality. I'm 6'1 with 33 inseam and maybe could have gone with 15 but on the custom- just about right

 

I have a 15" CeeGlide in Light Gray on my '12 RGU. I am 6' 1" with a 31" inseam. That probably makes us about the same seated height. I could probably have gone with a 16" and still see over the top of the shield. There is a significant reduction in buffeting. The air flow seems to be hitting me a little on the top of the helmet. A 16" might push it up so it doesn't do that.

 

JWD do you have any side and front view pics with the shield on? How was the new install kit they send you from Cee Baileys?

PS my Company HQ is in Issaquah I rode all over the Seattle area from Forks over to Yakima and even took the ferry over to Victoria and rode that area. Awesome riding!!

 

I am a clear view fan. I had the clear view large and it was too tall for me. I have the medium and it just right (I am 5'10") I think at 6'2" large would be good. Excellent company to deal with. The shield really quiets things down.

 

2011 RGU, I have the Clearview XL shield with vent. 6' 1", 33" inseam.
It takes a bit to get used to looking thru the shield, but it's what I wanted and I love it. (BTW....you can safely use RAIN-X on a clearview, so that's no problem). My wife loves it also as it really limits the airflow on her also.
Anything other than the stock will be an improvement!! Enjoy, ride safe.

 

The above posts were spot on. Cee Baileys are very nice quality shields,and so are Clearview. I just want to add to stay away from KW,they look nice,but don't work at all. I have ridden a friends RG with a CB windshield,and there is not flexing at all even at high speeds. I can't say the same about the KW shields,you can see them flexing at highway speeds.

 

Replaced my stock windshield in Sturgis this summer with a Windvest 15" shield. They did the replacement right in front of me, no labor charge, no waiting.

Now 0 buffeting, and I can easily see over the shield. Best money I ever spent ....
