220 miles and an ultra

RE: 220 miles and an ultra
The same thing happened to me when I went to look at my 04 EG Classic. When I got to the shop they had a price of $14995 on the bike, but on their web page said the price was $13995. Luckily I had printed the page out and took it with me before I went to look at the bike and asked the salesman about it, they took a look at the web page and said it was a mistake, that the price was $14995. I told the salesman that I had just driven 60 miles to look at the bike that was advertised for $13995 and I would like to speak to the manager. The manager came out and after a little discussion about false advertisement laws I rode home on an 04 ElectraGlide Classic for $13995. If they advertise a price, they must sell it for that price.

Way to go Spider! Glad you got the bike you wanted even if it wasn't the first one. Keep us informed to how you are progressing in 'getting acquainted' with the new bike.
Ride carefully and get your slow speed balancing skills up before taking the wife on board. Take the advanced motorcycle rider's course as soon as possible.
Your wife's Christmas shopping for you is not going to be a problem now.............Gift Certificate at the H-D Dealer where you bought. ................. BC

Congratulations on the bike, The same thing happened to me in 2004 I stopped at the local shop and negotiated a price on a 2003 police roadking with the discussion to stop in and put 10% down on the following Friday to hold it till my money came through the next week. Called them on Friday on the way and get the story after talking to the manager they cant sell the bike for what they said ($14500.00) so I call a dealer 5 hours and another state away about one he has on the web that he want $14000.00 for. make the drive on Saturday to look at the bike offer 13500.00 he says write the check and load it up. so about 10 hours driving saved me $1000,00 dollars. The local dealer always has a showroom full of bikes I wonder why?
