has anyone had issues with the display on their advanced audio receivers ? liquid Crystal display has been fading in and out and now seems to be gone completely.any guesses has to what the problem is. band new bike by the way.off to the dealer first thing tomorrow.

 

Yes, if you wash your bike or get caught in rain and the radio face takes a direct hit, the radio has no seal behind the display. My roadglide had this issue and it was a big issue a few years ago. Take it to harley and they will replace the radio with the newer ones that have the seal added. This is a Harden Karden warrenty issue not Harley so be aware they may have to order the radio so order it first and when they get it in then take the bike in.

 

Check the Road Glide forums too this was a big issue there for awhile.

 

Common problem with the older HK's.Guess the new ones can have this problem also.

 

I have an older HK radio (07), and have been living with the no display for a year now.
I can't (won't) pay $300 to get it working either.
Yesterday I pulled the radio control switch apart in the RH control module, and rebuilt the switch which I mangled 2 years ago putting on the chrome switches. The display now works again. I think in some cases a short may cause the blank display?
Without question if you're still under warranty get it fixed by the dealer though.
BTW - long standing issue with the HK radio's!
