Check out http://www.wardspartswerks.com/thermostats.html, pretty much everytrhing you'll want to know about Harley oil thermostats and maybe some stuff you don't want to know.

I just put two small allen hex keys into a pair of vise grips and it worked great:

T-stat cap removed. You can see the spring inside.

Job completed. Wiped up what little oil dripped out. Ready to try it out:

Will report back how it does.
Great job documenting the swap, it's really easy with the HD adapter. The Jagg adapter has to be partially uninstalled because the tstat retainer cap faces the block, you just can't get to it. Thanks for the post!

fabrik8r, I have seen some of the cooling work you have done. If you say this product works that's good enough for me - I just ordered mine! Would have been great to get in on the initial trials, but $25 is well worth it. Thanks for the link and the information. Mike

Thanks for those pics. Showed me exactly where it was (which was NOT where I was looking LOL). Must have been a damn torque monster who put mine in. I ended up having to get a fairly large nail and bending it into a u. Then filing it flat and smoothing the edges.

That finally let me take it out. Bent up allen wrenches trying to replicate what tibadoe did.

So, long story shot, got mine changed and everything cleaned up.

Thanks
Glenn

I'm interested in ordering one too. I have a bit of a heat monster that I am trying to tame. Could you PM me ordering instructions?

This should be a good link http://www.wardspartswerks.com/thermostats.html , simple paypal transaction, let me know if you have any issues so I can correct it.
