That is a great deal. Jump on it. I bought an Ultra and I love it. I didnt think I would use the cruise or stereo but I do. It is nice having all the storage too. Just get the bike checked out by a mechanic or at least get service records. If in good shape definitely worth it.

So if I have a mechanic check it out, what should I emphasize he looks for? Cam tensioner, oil consumption from leaking valves... ? I'm fairly confident the guy took this thing to the dealer for all service.
I know I would be taking a step "down" to the 88/5 speed from the 96/6 speed, but I've have the itch for a touring bike for 6 months and this seems like a good opportunity to scratch it

3200rpm at 75 mph. Right in the sweet spot. The only reason I would want a newer bike is for ABS. I'm sure there are other nice things about newer bikes, but you won't miss them if you never tried them. Can't lose what you never had!
