that's a decision you would have to make, If you feel that you are seeing better with the HID then try it out for a while..... see how you like it, you may be perfectly happy with it..

there is no HID projector housing for the ultra.... you would need to install a HID projector into your stock housing, provided it will come apart.. I'm not sure if the housing on the ultra is plastic or not.

You know i know this is blasphemous and that the moco never does anything right but build bikes but if it was me i would forget the after market hid and go with the led kit from hd i know that led both last longer and are leagal in all states and I seam to remember that at one time some states did not allow Hid head lamps just my 2 cents

I have HID's on my bike, I agree they would work better with a proper lense, however for both seeing down the road and brightness they work way better than stock or the PIAA bulbs I have that cost more $$$, and I ride a lot at night, I also don't have people flashing me as some others have complained, I did take time to adjust the lights.

Dealer sold me on the HID light on my 12TV SG. Looks okay, better than stock on low beam....some. High is slightly wider...no distance gained.

Well I took off my HID yesterday and installed one of the Sylvania Ultra (or something like that). Seems better than stock. Not near as much light out just in front of me as the HID, but it appears to be about the same down the road.
Don't know what I will do with the $110 HID kit. Keep it until I can come across a way to get a HID projector for the bike, I guess.
I do ride a lot at night, especially this time of the year. When I am going to work, it is dark. When I am coming home from my after-hours jobs, it is usually dark.

I got the 4300k at the recommendation of the guy selling these. Provides a whiter light.
By the way, I did go back and re-install it about a week ago. It is better then stock, but I would prefer to the have the Trucklite HED phase 7 light. The site I bought them at has discounted them some from my original purchase price. Also they have little better price for buying two.
