Audio CDs on your bagger

I know that you said that the disc works in your truck, but I have found that songs that I bought from Itunes are protected and can only be burned as audio and not mp3. I read that the way around this is to burn songs to an audio disc then put that disc in your computer and take them from the disc back to your itunes and they will be mp3's that are no longer protected. I have not tried this yet but will be soon. I tried using my ipod in the aux plug in but the sound of a CD is so much better.

I normally listen to satellite radio on my scoot, but recently decided to burn a few mix CDs from my iTunes library.
I am running iTunes 10 on Mac Snow Leopard, although that shouldn't make a difference.
I convert tunes to MP3 and create a playlist of the mix. Then I pop in a fresh CD-R disc and select Burn Playlist to Disc from the menu. From the Preferred Speed drop-down I have selected various speeds, all with same result.
For Disc Format I select MP3 CD and click the Burn button.
The disc is created and will play in any CD player, except (intermittently) the stock head unit on my Road Glide. To clarify, if a CD is created that doesn't play on my Glide, it never plays on my Glide. It just displays the track, by number and song title, and then moves to the next track. When it reaches the final track it starts over.
That same CD will play just fine on my Macs, PCs, living room stereo and in my truck.
It doesn't happen every time, but enough to be bothersome. CDs aren't expensive, but still...
Replacing the head unit isn't an option right now.
Anyone?

Their default AAC format is encrypted using FairPlay, but there are no restrictions on copying - from a technical, not legal, perspective. Anyhow, it is perfectly legal to make copies of music you have purchased for you own use.

I have tried burning CDs using both Mac and PC. I have made audio discs as well as data discs. I have used iTunes to create the discs on Macs and Windows Explorer and Nero on the PC. I have used the internal CD burners on the Mac and PC as well as an external USB burner.
And I have a stack of CDs that play properly in every single CD player I own, except the one on the scooter. In there they display track number & name for each track in succession. If I select Random, it displays track number and name in random order.
The HK deck plays the store bought CDs without issue.
I would guess a dealer would say that there isn't a problem.
Oh well... guess I'll go back to satellite radio.

I found it on roadglide.org, by GovDog76,
"The problem is the ID3 version that your MP3 files are using. There are many versions, and most software (like iTunes) uses version 3.x.
The stereo in our glides only really likes v1.x
Depending on what software you have on your computer, there are several ways to deal with this. I use iTunes, so for me it was easy to copy my entire music collection to an external drive (so i did not muck with my "real" collection) and then select all the songs, and select the option in iTunes to "convert ID3 tag." This then allows you to select the version. I selected v1.0. this strips album art, lyrics, etc, but leaves song and artist name. Once you have done that, burn the MP3 CD. You will be set.
Let me know if you need more details and I will try to give more info.
Took me quite a while to figure this one out..."
Let me know if this does the trick for you...

Several members have given you suggestions to try ..... my .02 cents worth is to be sure that your radio software is up to date also. I've enclosed a link to check your software version for your HK and also to update the software if it isn't.
