Default When is the best time to buy a new Ultra Classic Limited?

Making the plunge for a new Limited soon. I was wondering when is the best time to buy? I know some dealers offer incentives just to move more bikes in the slower winter months or offer in store credit. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks FT

you'd have to call around

you can think about setting up a Montana LLC and not having to pay sales tax.

I've posted about it here, or you can just google and the many broker services that do this in Helena will come up.

so there's a 10% saving right there

and: the Limited is a high margin package- is it all that you want? or could an ultra with a couple of add ons be as much bike for less $

and you have to evaluate 11 vs 12 vs a used bike at a substantial saving

to really save will take research on your part

Try to find a used one first , You can save alot of money, Most used ultras are very clean, I bought my 2011 ultra from a private party for 18000 out the door, The same bike would have been around 23000 , It had 300 miles, Good deals are everware.

Default Leftover

Probably could get a sweet deal right now on a leftover 2011, if someone had one. It seems that the shorter supply of 2012s' hasn't allowed for any heavy discounting that I've seen. Then again, the winter hump is almost upon us!

Well, it depends on where in the US you live. If you live in AZ I try to buy and break in a new bike during cooler weather (try that is).

Up here in the northern States the end of January/February is primo for buying new OR used. Most salesmen haven't sold a bike for nearly 2 months and they're hungry as all hell.
Don't know 'bout your neck of the woods though - south is where I trailer to for late winter/early spring riding.

It's not so much WHEN you buy as WHO you buy it from, unless you consider an end of model year bike. I would seriously look at a small "home town" type dealer with low overhead. In August of 2010 I bought a new 2011 Streetglide for $2000 off list price with NO additional fees. I totaled the bike in June this year and bought an end of year 2011 RKC from the same dealer at $3000 off MSRP in August. Besides the good prices, you get customer service unequalled by any of the glitzy big box Harley dealers. It's like walking into "Cheers", where everybody knows your name. So, those little shops that you might overlook may just surprise you.

The best time to buy a bike is when you have all the cash you need to walk in a pay for the mother up front. Think of all the $$$ you will save over paying interest on a loan.

The last day of the month!
If they are behind in sales for the month......let the dealing begin.

Default Limited

Any day is a good day to buy a limited!!

No, seriously, I picked up a 2011 used from a dealer in TX. It had 5K on the clock, but it was discounted about .75 a mile. I got it for $20,500. If you're wanting to get the best deal, that's a pretty good way to go.

Of course, it's always nice to get a brand new bike. You do have to pay a premium for that pleasure though.
