Making the plunge for a new Limited soon. I was wondering when is the best time to buy? I know some dealers offer incentives just to move more bikes in the slower winter months or offer in store credit. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks FT
If you don't mind driving to Dallas, call Longhorn Harley in Grand Prairie Texas and ask for Shane.....
These guys will hook you up..
You could always have someone drive you in and have one hell of a sweet ride home...
Right after you win the lottery, just write them a check and drive her out!!! Not really a best time of the year, unless your local stealer has end of product year savings.
I am a toy buyer, plus old retired shopper.I took my neighbor in to a dealer that I think is real high just to look.he traded that day a 2007 perfect fatboy, stock for a 2012 SG put duals and seat and some chrome and backrest.Includes 1000 mile service and winter storage. It is the new red color for only $9000 OTD, plus 15% 0ff add ons for 60 days.No prep.and no frt.Ohio tax is 6.75%.$9000 OUT the damn door.
To my old eyes that's a deal.

The bloom may be off the bush for a deal on a 2011, ours are gone, every last touring bike. The 2012's are trickling in. the only motivator now is a slightly slower selling pace. Anytime now probably is as good as any.
I picked up a 2011 SG 103 at Orlando Harley for $17,800.00 out the door and they painted the inside batwing. The bike had miles on it due to being part of their rental inventory. I traded in my 2001 Ultra. I'm happy with the deal and had the cash to pay the difference. If your open to buying at Orlando Harley ask for Patrick Torres (sales manager). Orlando HD has a lot of inventory.

The smart *** answer would be "when you can make a few of the payments".
The real answer is anytime after the new model year comes out, pick up a left over of the previous model year. Some dealers will cut you a pretty good deal on a left over 2011 model right now. That's how I picked up my 2010 Ultra in September of 2011. It was a left over and the 2011's were out. I got a pretty sweet deal on it as the dealer had a warehouse full of 2011 Ultras and four 2010 Ultras on the floor. The '10s had to go.
Try to find a used one first , You can save alot of money, Most used ultras are very clean, I bought my 2011 ultra from a private party for 18000 out the door, The same bike would have been around 23000 , It had 300 miles, Good deals are everware.
+1... I would shop around and look for something used with low miles, clean, etc. This day and time you can find killer deals. So what it's got a couple of miles. It may even have some upgrades already. Some states you don’t even have to pay sales tax if it’s a private party sale, such as Nevada. BL, don’t be in a hurry to give the stealership your hard earned $$$. I know, everyone likes to drive the new purchase off the lot with only one mile on it. I guess it must be an age thing now, I could care less if I'm the first one to drive it.
