I haven't got my notice yet and made a switch cover for mine also....I really don't want to take mine in..the thought of having those hamhauks hands on my steed makes me really uneasy.
I don't know, for some reason that made me think of my wife.
I am going to take my chances, and probably not have it done...I only heard of two insidences when the brake light failed, out of 300 thousand bikes,
The company says in government documents that brake light switches can be exposed to too much heat from the exhaust system. The brake lights can fail, and the problem also can cause fluid leaks and the loss of rear brakes.
Guess I have been living in a vaccum... or Afsuckistan. First I'm hearing of it. Guess I'm not surprised the dealer hasn't said anything. I just got my ride back from them after returning. Unless they did it already and just forgot to tell me. Anyway, thanks for the info.
Brought my bike in for service and a couple tires today. Told him I thought there was a recall on the brake switch. He said yes they would do it. When I got home the recall notice was in the mailbox.
Mine failed and the first sign was static on the radio. After spending some time troubleshooting that problem, I discovered that the brake light wasn't working. Then I found fluid on the floor. It was replaced under warranty and if they have a better switch or kit, I'm gonna let em do it again.
