Default Ride to Solvang motorcycle musem

I took a short ride to Solvang, an old Danish town in CA off hwy 101. There is a motorcycle museum there that I have been meaning to go to for years. They call it a museum, but it is actually a dudes personal bike collection. Not only that, every bike runs. The oldest being from 1911. There is over 40 bikes and he swaps them out every now and then with other ones he keeps in another location. Really cool and definitely worth a stop if you ever ride through. I wish I brought my camera, I only had the iPhone.

Just thought I would share.

* Check out that five cylinder motor in the front wheel of a post WWII German bike. Crazy Germans.

Bosch Rexroth, a German company and world leader in hydraulics, recently brought out a hydraulic motor that bolts on the front motor. Used on long range enduro bikes, eg Pais Dakar - apparently it makes a huge difference to handling

Been to Solvang - great coffee shops

Very cool thanks for sharing. Reminds me of Bills Old Bike Barn here in Pennsylvania.

I've stopped by the museum a couple of times when passing through town and never had the good luck of catching it open, due to it's part time hours. But, enjoyed just peep'n thru the window at the collection.
