if you have a oil cooler... you can just remove the oil return line from the oil cooler & add a small tube & do the same thing..I do this on my big dog as I have coolers on them........ just leave your old oil filter on untill the oil pumps clean.. then reconnect the oil lines & change the oil filter.........
. On my 07 flhp with same(?) engine I drain 4 and put 4 back in. Why is this?
My 07 Ultra has almost 60,000 miles on it. Change oil every 3000 mi . I could NEVER get 4 qts back in. It would be running all over the floor. 3.5 MAYBE
PS My buddies 07 Street Glide is the same way

Eric, you referring to the above while your running the Scavenger system or is this what you do to eject remaining oil left in your engine?
Sorry it took so long to get back. The bike was HOT when I drained the oil. The reason I knew how much oil came out was because I poured the waste oil into a clear plastic jug. The scavenger willnot work on an A motor.

no I dont have the scavenge system... it does the same thing... it just pumps out the oil stop when you see clean oil running out your tube from the oil cooler...

So how do you keep all the oil from running completely out then? Or are you filling the oil tank as its running the old oil out?
