Default weird noise coming from my 103 stage IV

Hey guys I was wondering if someone can help me out. I know no one saw the bike but I have an issue with the way the engine sounds. I got the 103 stage IV installed in april. Instead of the heads that came with the kit I upgraded to the HD polished and ported heads. The valves are much bigger as well. Anyway ever since it was installed I hear the tack tack tack tack sound. As the engine revs higher the noise is louder. The guys at the dealership say its the valves making that noise because its a bigger motor now. I dont really buy that since I had a big dog with a 117 motor. And all I heard was the motor run not that noise. Now they are saying it might be the rocker lifters. Any help would be appreciated

Have the same issue. Had the rings let go on rear cylinder and had to buy a new cylinder and piston and rings. Wasn't warrantied do took it to a shop locally that builds custom bike and has a good reputation. According to the owner of the shop he says it's overlap in the valves and that's it's fine. I said ok I'm gonna ride it like I stole it and if the motor lets go so be it I'll go to the 120R. He tubes the bike and 110 hp an 112 tq. Runs good so far. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Pretty vague description of the noise youre giving. If you could post up some video that would help. Otherwise it could be lifters or rockers or compensator or a number of things. You could try setting the pushrods a little deeper in the lifters if they are adjustable pushrods. Another thought is that the rocker boxes may need clearanced.

Did that noise go away once it was done? And what did you mean when you said "Had the rings let go on rear cylinder"? Did you remove them and put new ones on? I hate that noise so much. It just takes away that engine sound

Being able hear it would be a big help but--- it could be the front exhaust pushrod rubbing in the top end of the pushrod cover tube.

What cams are you running? High lift cams can also cause some valve train noise.

I have the standard factory stage IV heads and don't have any more noise than the stock 96 or 103 motors. Without hearing it I won't even bother with a suggestion as there is many things that be the source of the noise.

I have a stage IV Evo with hi lift cam and roller rockers and the engine makes much more noise than a stage II or III. Mine has over 30K on the engine, it wouldn't hurt to have it checked but they do make noise.
