I tried two different lowering brackets...They worked and accomplished their purpose however riding two-up the back tire would rub going over railroad tracks. I ended up getting HD progressive 412's and wished I would have done that in the begining.

I read about these shocks from Sway-a-way in an article recently, but I can't find any reviews or anything on them otherwise. It looks like they have two sizes, one for a stock-type ride height and one for a lower ride height. Apparently you can manually mechanically (not air) adjust the ride height. The lower ride height ones adjust from 12 1/2 down to 11 1/2 inches.

I don't know anything about them, but they look interesting.

A lady friend of mine used the HD kit to lower her Ultra and it works for her.

Mine is stock and I noticed that toward day 19 of my 7700 mile run this summer the bike seemed lower when I sat on her in the morning. Now this may have been due to the excessive amount of dirt and dead bugs I was packing, I don't know for sure. I have not had time to research it.

It could also have been that after 19 days my seat was compressed (flattened) from my fat azz.

Okay, here's a dumb question. If those of us who are SHORT lower our bikes because we like our feet to touch the ground, and the rest of you lower your bikes because (why do you lower your bikes?) who knows why, WHY DOESN'T THE MOCO JUST MAKE BIKES 1 TO 2 INCHES LOWER TO BEGIN WITH? Looks like everyone would be happy and we wouldn't be discussing this.

I had the stock HD low profile shocks and now have the progressive 440's. No question about it 440's are a better ride and will lower you bike WITHOUT the chance of bottoming out the fender onto the tire.

It's either because the majority of people don't want to lower their bikes (the people that have 0 interest in lowering their bike probably don't look in threads like this and if they do they probably don't respond), or this way they might buy something from harley.

Think about how many people change their seat on a brand new bike, think harley will give put a really comfortable seat on the bike? What about handgrips, footpegs, etc?

Or they are like me. 6 - 1 with a long inseam and don't want their knees in their face when they ride.

Also I like a high frame clearance for when I'm off roading. [:-]
