Default Scuffed Finish Under Passenger Seat

Ever since I have had my '11 RKC, I have had these scuff marks on the finish under the passenger seat. You can't see it unless you take the seat off. At first I thought maybe the leather had rubbed off and gotten into the finish, but I have applied scratch remover and tried to buff the finish, but it is still there. I haven't minded much until lately, as I would like to get a solo seat for one-up riding, but the fender looks like crap. Any advice, or do I need to take this to my paint guy to refinish? Thanks.

Seats are not kind to rear fenders. I put 3M clear tape on mine to prevent future scuffing but I doubt if it really will make a diff

Had the same situation on mine, so I picked up a fender bid when I got the mustang solo seat.

Same thing here. Would not buff out. Just went with a fender bib.

OK, thx. I have an old fender bib from my Deluxe. Wonder if it will fit? Thanks again for feedback. Ride safe.

Yup...me too. Fender bib and a Motherwell rack on top of it with my solo seat. Looks great!

Fender bibs cover many seat rubs. 1st thing I did was remove the seat and install heavy clear vinyl over the paint under the seat. Doesn't really solve anything because if I ran a solo saddle I would have to remove it, then reinstall new when going back to a two up seat. You would think that after all these years the MOCO could solve this pain in the *** issue!

I had seen several threads on this topic and someone mentioned using suction cups. Not sure how well this will work with a 2-up seat but my setup has the stock police solo seat with a Mustang pillion seat. The suction cups are from a craft store and are placed beneath the rubber bumpers on the bottom or the pillion seat.

Now that's the best idea I've seen yet! My '10 Limited fender is absolutely trashed from seat rubs... wish I had seen this earlier...
