Default 2008 Ultra or a 2012 Ultra?

I am looking to move up to an Ultra and have found two in the color I’ve been waiting for, White. One is a 2008 with extra chrome and ABS, and only 9800 miles, and a good price at 15K, the other a 2012 with NO ABS and a price of 22K. I could probably wait for a 2012 with ABS but the cost would increase by about 2K. My question, is the 103 and the new frame worth the extra 8-9 thousand dollars? Also, would you buy another bike without ABS?

Well I have 2012 White Ultra with ABS and I got it for 22. I would keep looking. As far as ABS. I have had several near misses with deer over the years. The last one I am sure the ABS saved my bacon. I would not buy one without it again. BTW, There were lots of improvements in 2009 and it may pay to keep looking for one of those.

Have 2008 ultra (33K miles) and have been extremely satisfied. But I'm sure I will like the new ones even more. Either this winter for a 2012, or next fall for a 2013 model for me. If possible, I'd try for the newest model you can get (afford). JMHO.

I love my white '08 with ABS and have no interest in trading (unless I could afford a CVO Ultra).

My friend went from a '05 to a '10 and says the new frame makes the ride and handling so much better.

I'm talking Street Glides here but: I went from a 2008 (with 11,000 miles) to a 2009 just for the new frame, fat rear tire and 448 other upgrades.
To me it was well worth it. The '09 rode more stable around semi-trucks, high winds, long sweeping curves and squirrelly roads than the '08.

Go for the 12 with abs. The difference in $$$ is not that much. Especially if you plan on keeping the bike for awhile
