If it's like the police bikes around here, I wouldn't want it. Was talking to a motor officer friend of mine the other day, and he said definately not to buy a police bike that had been in the fleet.
I am sure that if you look at it the floorboards are razor sharp and the floorboard supports have large flat, scraped places on them.
Police bikes are rode hard, and idled way more than any air cooled engine should be.

Actually, that almost sounds too good to be true. I trained as a motor officer back in the day and I wouldn't want one that was used for that. Other than that, they were rode hard, but should be okay. What bothers me is the price. Make sure it's not a scam before proceeding.

Yeah price is way low, unless it is banged up.
Some of them are really rough and some show very well.
I paid a little more than that for a model year 2000 with 24,000 miles on it last year.
A cops safety at stake, you can know the bikes get all the scheduled service they are supposed to get.
I had my choice of 2 of them. One had way low miles but was hammered. The one I bought shows very well and they did a great job with the white paint, no signs of the cop graphics left behind.
Great bike in great shape, so far my favorite bike to ride and I did have a 2006 FLHTI I bought brand new before this one.
It is not perfect, it has a ding here and there. Gives it some character, cop glides are kool. And gives me an excuse not to be a detailing fanatic. Just spray and rinse with S100 once in a while. Only 1 or 2 complete details a year.
The only eye-sore on the bike is the shifters, they are spot welded together. Heel/toe has you hitting a lot harder. One day I will change them out when I get around to it.
Nothing wrong with a bike that has been ridden, if Harleys are anything, they are overbuilt and many Sunday riders think 24,000 miles is close to the boneyard. It is just broken in.
I have heard of the horrors some of the cop bikes see. I use company vehicles at work, so I can relate to that but it just depends. Some peoople treat the vehicles like their own or better and some people have absolutely no respect at all.
For the most part, I think the bikes in service are used for parades, funerals, escorts and sitting at an intersection ready to chase down a red light runner. I think a Harley can handle that!
And I wouldn't trade my hocky puck saddlebag lids for anything!

Our Department had a 06 model which I think was still the 88 engine then they went to the 103 on 07, anyways the 06 model was the most troublesome bike we ever had. It overheated often and would die. There were other small problems with the bike which took it out of service a few times over a summer. It was not reliable and ended up setting most of the time. I can not say this is the same with all the 06's just the one we had.
