Default PLEASE HELP!!!! Bike wont start after ape install

I just got done installing my wo576 bars. I got the bike put all back together and it wont start. I will turn on ignition then turn the engine stop button to on and the fuel pump kicks on for like half a second and quits then the engine light and cruise light come on. All of my switches work including horn lights, turn signals all radio controls. I am lost. We did test the power with out the fuel tank on and forgot to turn the kill switch off so the pump turned on without the gas tank hooked up. I do not know if that is a problem. Where should I start?Whats the chances of something grounding out in the handlebars?

My guess it you did not get the on/off handle bar switch correct.

Pinched wire would be my guess. Try and do a code search. See if one comes up. Then clear and reset and see what happens.

Open the switch housing and look for pinched wires to the on off switch first. That is what I am betting on.

does the engine crank over? if so, by chance did you break the TBW, if that wire is broke the fuel pump will kick on for like a half a second then realize it's not picking up any position from the throttle and shut the fuel pump right back down. even with your hands off the grip it still sends a signal to the ecm/fuel pump that it is making contact

also, if you have a droid, download the VTwin App. pretty handy for checking/resetting codes
