i had same issue guy come to find out i stupidly wired the tps sensor backwards the engine light coming on means there is a error code most likely with the tps i would go over the tps with a fine tooth comb and be absolutly sure you have it wired correctly i thought i did but it was not so

 

Did you check the starter relay? When I installed mine it somehow came unplugged. I checked everything under the Fairing including the wiring.... Go figure

 

Is it in gear

 

Hold the throttle wide open, turn on the key and see if the fueling cycles like you are used to hearing. Don't start is that way as you will freak out and let go of the throttle, it will open up and ..........

 

Iy was the TBW, i took aprt the green connector, threw away the heated grip wire, and soldered the wires were the green connector would be, wires pulled smooth as silk and everything works great, thanks for all the tips
