Talking 09 flhtc

Replaced with a DEKA from Battery Mart last week, $97.00 free shipping 4 days to the door. Cranks like it was on speed. Love my bike again.

My stock battery on my 08 FLHT went out after 3 1/2 years, I got one from Battery mart for less then half of what my dealer wanted. Hell it might be the same company that makes "Harley" batteries.

HD battery available same day. So I paid a little more to get it sooner.

And if there is a problem, I just go down to the Harley Dealer and have my problem addressed, or get a new battery.

I do not need to mail or call a phone number to explain any problem. Then wait to see "If" and when they would take care of me. All the time, no bike.

That is the difference between buying important parts On-Line Vs local. It is worth a few dollars more in price to buy local for important things like the battery.

Ride safe.

I also ignored the obvious signs that the battery in my '09 was getting weak. Thought it should last longer than that. Didn't always put in on the tender while I was gone at work for weeks at a time, so probably my fault. I paid for it, too. Left me on the side of the road on a short ride one day. I had stopped to get a drink of water, and dead as a doornail. Lucky a rancher came along with jumper cables and I got going again.
Almost made it home, but bike died about 2 miles from the house. One bad thing about having an ECM and fuel injection.
FYI, I've heard that you should never jump a HD with the donor having his outfit running, or you could fry the ECM.
Oh yeah, it was a HD battery.

Agreed. Harley doesn't make the batteries. How "strict" do you suppose their requirements are if they call .012 crankshaft runout acceptable?

Have not replaced mine yet as I'm still running the original from 06, but when I do you can bet I will go with HD OEM. The "Battery Minder Plus" might have something to do with the longevity.

Unless in an emergency I would no more buy a battery for my Harley from a Harley dealer than buy one for my Tundra from a Toyota dealer.
