metallic rattling sound
Hi all,
2007 roadglide I did the screaming eagle compensator up grade months ago.
When I slowly let out the clutch in 1st, like slowly moving through a parking lot I hear this grinding, metallic rattling noise.
All the other gears are fine. Its just when clutching when slowly taking off.
Any ideas.
Thanks

you may need to go in there
could be as easy as clutch or primary chain adjustment, it could be worn compensator or bearings--- could even be the stator magnets
double check your work from the last time in.
you can use a rod placed to your ear to listen to the different areas to track the location of the problem front of primary, rear of primary, tranny etc.
1.) never use air impact tools on the compensator or clutch, the first can knock the magnets off the rotor, destroying the stator, the second can damage the shifting mechanism in the tranny
2.) always disconnect the battery before pulling the primary cover, lest your fingers get plucked off
