D&D Fatcat sound??
Im a currently looking at purchasing a D&D fatcat 2into1 system with the concentric baffle.
I have yet to hear a fatcat in person.
Could anyone tell me what other types of exhaust systems that D&D fatcat would compare to sound wise?
I want a good, strong sounding pipe. But, I really don't care to have something where I can be heard from 6 blocks away...
Thanks!

Overall a great sound ... not a cheep loud ... a performance loud (I just made the up) nice BARK
mine is quiet enough at idle and putting around to be ok with the cops, but if you crank it up past 2500 rpm (+-) mine always sets off parked car alarms ...
overall - most people love the sound of my bike ALOT

My bro has one on his RG. Not sure what baffle. It sounds mellow when cruising and outstanding when he opens her up. His bike is 106 ci and has cams though, so it might be slightly more aggressive sounding. It actually sounds pretty sick. Think cammed BBC with some Flowmasters.
I have the FBI 2into1 on an 88 carbed with cams. Sounds a tad mellower at idle and cruising and a slightly more subdued then his when opened up. I can hear my radio better at cruising speeds with this exhaust then with my V&H true duals with Ovals prior. But when I get into it, sounds more aggressive then the duals.
FWIW, there's an unconfirmed rumor out there that the FBI and D&D are made at the same place.

I hate the sound of my Fatcat on my Street Glide. It has that tingy sound kinda like the Honda ricer cars with the fart can mufflers.
The V&H Propipe (Own on my Dyna) on the other hand sounds so nice and deep I would highly recommend that every time over the crappy Fatcat.
The Fatcat comes off in the spring!! Worst mod I've made on any of the 13 bikes I've owned!
Don't know if it figures in or not but...D&D about $1000/V&H about $500

I got a Fat Cat on my SE120R
I got it for a 107, but that's a different story
To me, It's too loud and I wear ear plugs and it doesen't have that "deep HD sound" , but it runs great
If you are looking for a non-race "deep harley sound" , don't get the Fat Cat
But if you are looking for hi-performance, get the Fat Cat
